Eau Gallie Interact Club
Interact is Rotary for high school students. The program gives young people an opportunity to participate in fun, meaningful service projects while developing leadership skills and meeting new friends. The term, Interact, is derived from “inter” for International, and “act” for action.
Every Interact Club must be sponsored and supervised by a Rotary Club. The Eau Gallie Rotary Club is the sponsor of the Eau Gallie High School Interact Club.
The History of Interact
The first ever Interact club was established by the Rotary Club of Melbourne, Florida in 1962. Today there are over 11,000 Interact clubs with more than 250,000 members in over 120 countries and geographical regions.
How does an Interact Club create positive change?
“Interactors” develop skills in leadership and attain practical experience in conducting service projects, thereby learning the satisfaction that comes from serving others. A major goal of Interact is to provide opportunities for young people to create greater understanding and goodwill with youth throughout the world.
Every Interact club carries out two service projects a year: one that helps your school or community and one that promotes international understanding.
Through Interact, an “Interactor” can:
- Developing leadership skills and personal integrity
- Demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others
- Advance International understand and goodwill
- Carry out hands-on service projects
- Connect with other young leaders
- Have fun!
