Local clubs, like Eau Gallie Rotary Club, are the heart of Rotary. At weekly meetings, members catch up with friends, hear what’s happening in your communities, and share plans and exchange ideas for creating lasting change.
Why should I join the Eau Gallie Rotary Club?
All Rotary clubs share a key mission: to serve others. Local club service projects, like preparing meals for hungry children, will empower you to get involved with your community, helping your neighbors. By participating in international projects like building and solar power generation system for a hospital in Africa, Rotarians can volunteer their time and talents where they are most needed around the world. The Eau Gallie Rotary Club is all about friends coming together to help others.
Club members have many opportunities for humanitarian service, both locally and internationally. Service programs address concerns such as health care, hunger, poverty, illiteracy, and the environment. Rotarians regularly experience the fulfillment that comes from giving back to the community.
Rotary was founded on fellowship, a cornerstone that continues to attract members today. Rotarians enjoy camaraderie with like-minded professionals, and club projects provide opportunities to develop enduring friendships.
Rotary sponsors some of the world’s largest exchange and educational programs. Rotary clubs provide innovative training opportunities and mentoring for young leaders, and they involve family members in a wide range of social and service activities.
Encouraging high ethical standards and respect for all worthy vocations has been a hallmark of Rotary from its earliest days. In their business and professional lives, Rotarians abide by The Four-Way Test.
Rotary is an organization of successful professionals. Team-building, fundraising, public speaking, planning, organization, and communication are just some of the leadership skills that club members can exercise and enhance. Being a Rotary leader provides further experience in motivating, inspiring, and guiding others.
An original goal of Rotary was to allow club members to meet periodically and enlarge their circle of business and professional acquaintances. As members of the oldest service club in the world, Rotarians represent a cross-section of their community’s business owners, executives, managers, political leaders, and professionals – people who make decisions and influence policy.
Where do you meet?
The Eau Gallie Rotary Club meets on Tuesdays at Noon, at the Cuizine Restaurant & Lounge in Satellite Beach, Florida. Attending club meetings allows members to enjoy the club’s fellowship, enrich their professional and personal knowledge, and meet other busienss leaders in the community.
What is the attendance requirement?
As a member of our club, you are responsible for attending at least 50 percent of all club meetings in each six-month period. If you’re unable to attend a meeting, you can make up that meeting by attending a meeting of another Rotary club.
Use the club locator on the Rotary International Web site to find meeting locations and times. Meeting can be made up two weeks before or after the missed meeting. Rotarians can also make up meetings by participating in a club service project, attending a club board meeting, or attending an online meeting at one of several Rotary e-clubs.
You can also make up a meeting at another Rotary club in the area. (Click tab below to see a list of all clubs in the area)
Will Rotary take up all of my time?
We meet for lunch every week, and you’ll need to attend at least half of those meetings, or make them up some other way. Other than that, there is no requirement that will demand your time. All Rotary service projects are voluntary. Of course, the whole point of joining Rotary is to participate in some of the club’s activities. When opportunities to serve come up, you simply choose to get involved in what interests you.
Fulfilling the financial obligations of membership is an important part of being a member of the Eau Gallie Rotary Club. How much does it cost to be a Rotarian? It’s $85 per month, plus the cost of lunch.
Other Financial Considerations
The quarterly Paul Harris Contribution of $25 satisfies your Every Rotarian, Every Year minimum annual obligation of $100 toward the Rotary Foundation. There is also a one time $100 initiation fee. If you “make up” at another Rotary Club, a lunch credit will roll forward to your next bill.
Rotarians may use the How to Propose a New Member Form to nominate a candidate for membership.
